this was the single that i wrote after a major shift in my creative mindset. i was getting a little caught up in “one-upping myself” after releasing the first 5 checkpoint singles, and it kind of halted my music making. turns out putting that kind of pressure on yourself doesn’t help with the creative process, it just makes you more stressed out and self-conscious.
i finally decided that enough was enough, so i’ll just make whatever i want and release it. i won’t even tell anyone, if for no other reason than to spite the ego that stopped me from making music in the first place. that shift in mindset was exactly what i needed, because it gave me the mental space to go on and have the most prolific year of my life to date.
cloud dlc is a very important song to me, and was heavily inspired by the game Tunic and it’s incredible soundtrack (thanks Lifeformed and Janice Kwan!)
